1. Travel to Indonesia & COVID-19 Information

Can I enter Bali even during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Foreigners who hold work permits, business visas, permanent residence, diplomatic visas, as well as those traveling under special corridor arrangements with Indonesia will be able to enter the country. Visitors should contact their nearest Indonesian embassy for more information.

Important note: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your planned returning date or else Indonesia will NOT allow you into the country and your airline will NOT let you on the plane.

2. Teaching

What is your teaching methodology?

In our school we are using the communicative method in English language teaching. The communicative approach is based on the idea that learning language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. When learners are involved in real communication, their natural strategies for language acquisition will be used, and this will allow them to learn to use the language.

What does my English level need to be to study with BEST?

All our courses are created for student who have zero knowledge of English up to the intermediate level.

How will I know if the course I chose is right for my level?

On the first day of class, you will take an English test on the following areas: grammar, writing, listening and speaking. Your class level will be based on your test results.

Do I get a certificate or diploma after the course?

You will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the end of your course, which will show your level of English, the dates on which you have studied and your attendance in classes.

Will there be teachers who speak my native language?

We teach our courses purely in English. However, we will find a translator for any serious issues if necessary.

3. Booking Process and Payment

How do I reserve my English Course? What are the payment rules?

We have developed a very friendly payment system to support our student and give them confidence during COVID times.

Once you pay the enrolment fee of 150 USD, your seat will be reserved for the whole period of your course. After a month from your enrolment fee payment, you will have to pay 20% of your invoice. On the first day of your course in Bali, you will need to pay the remaining 80%. You can make the payment with your credit card or PayPal account directly on our website.

4. Accommodation

What are the accommodation options with BEST?

We offer accommodation at Harris, a four-star hotel in the same building where our school is located. The hotel is located at the central part of Seminyak, which is a 5-minute walk to the beach. Outside the hotel, there are various shops and restaurants. And most especially, there is free WiFi everywhere. The accommodation can be booked in the following categories: Single room or Double. All accommodations have Wi-Fi and air-conditioning.

If I have chosen the shared-room option, who will I be sharing it with?

You will be placed with another student of the same sex and of similar age, each with a single bed. When students are sharing rooms, we try our best to place students who are from different countries and languages together.

Can I book only the course without an accommodation?

Yes! On our price list, you will find also the option to book “Course Only”, but we don’t recommend this option.

5. Timetables

What days will the school be open?

All of our courses are held from Mondays to Fridays. The school will be closed on public/bank holidays.

How long is a lesson?

One hour lesson is equal to 45 minutes.

Is there a minimum week to be booked?

Yes the minimum is 2 weeks up to 6 months

When should I plan to arrive and depart?

Our courses start on Monday morning, so we recommend you to arrive on Saturday before your start date. Our courses finish on Friday, however you do not have to leave the accommodation until the noon of Saturday. Extra hotel nights are available upon request.

6. Life in Bali

When is the best time to go to Bali?

Travelers can visit Bali any time of the year, with no notable "off-season". High season generally follows the drier time of year which runs from April to November, with a shoulder season in March and December. January and February tend to be the rainiest times of year. But in Bali, even the rainy season comes in shorter spurts of rainfall, that allows you to still venture outside the rest of the day.

Is Bali Safe?

Yes. Bali has always been a peaceful place to live for locals and tourists.

What transport should I use to move around?

Bali’s public transport options are limited. They don’t have great public transport system and traffic can be heavy. The best way to move around is by car or motorcycle taxis. The most popular apps, where you can order your taxi online are these ones : GOJEK, Grab, Blue Bird. You can also easily rent a motorcycle by yourself but be careful! You must have a good driving experience for this. The cost to rent a motorcycle is 3 to 7 USD a day.

Do I need immunizations when travelling to Bali?

If you are staying in civilized, built up areas of Bali (like Kuta, Nusa Dua, Denpasar, Sanur, Seminyak, Canggu, Uluwatu/Jimbaran, Ubud, Amed), staying in clean accommodation and eating in good restaurants, you will be fine even without immunizations.

7. Health Insurance

Do I need special health insurance to come to Bali?

No, you do not need any health insurance to enter Indonesia, but we recommend you to check with your health insurance in your own country if you have international coverage. If not, there are many international providers, which can provide you with health insurance for Bali. But as mentioned before, this is not mandatory.
